    1987 325is ecu number?

    Ok, so i have a 1987 325is, (5 speed) and i am wanting to get an engine chip for it, and i am completely stumped to what my ecu number is, i was wandering if anyone could help, thanks.

    If original, the car will have a 153 dme. Finding a chip for that will be difficult, but you can swap in a 173 dme.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      I may have a chip and a 153 DME possibly to sell you. email me at bmwextremeparts@yahoo.com. and tell me the Bosch number the DME is in the glovebox above the plastic cover and is held in by like for or so 10mm bolts.

        Just to add to that, you can also swap in any ECU/DME with a higher number than 173. I put a 524 in my '87 today and it smoothed it out a lot.
