Drain/Fill Plugs

I will be swapping out my diff. cover for one with a new bushing put in and while I was at it I picked up some new drain/fill plugs. I noticed that the head of the new plug looks like it is a 17mm hex and it is a little shorter than the original. Is it okay to use the new one still?

Look to see how much the threads engage. Those extra threads on your old plug may be unnecessary.

the plugs go all the way in, so the new one should be fine...
