Pedals and/or Pedal Box in Vert same or different

My E30 325is is so easy to heel/toe downshift. However, in my recently acquired vert the pedal area seems tighter and (most importantly) the accelerator is several inches below the brake making it almost impossible to heel/toe downshift (or use the front of your foot to touch both pedals at the same time).

Is the pedal box/arrangement different in the vert? Anyone else experienced? Is there any pedal adjustment?

My only other thought would be to add a overlay over the accelerator pedal to build it up a little. Anyone else encounter or other thoughts much appreciated.

i think the only thing that different is the dead pedal but i don't think anything else is different

Don't have much to add other than the fact verts have a lot less foot space due to the extra metal to stiffen the sills.

      I find it tight myself.
