Size of 318 vs 325

Hey all,

I have been e30 less for a couple years now and have been saving sufficient funds for another e30. I am looking for a 325i (88+) but it has been almost impossible to find a good one that isn't breaking the bank. My future plans for it include possible engine swaps.

My question is, are the engine bays and overall dimensions of the 318i the same as the 325i? For example, will the same engines fit in either car with the same work?

Yes they are the same body

Same cars. Different motors and running gear. If you plan on swapping later on a 318 is a great candidate.
