    E30 un-even tread wear?

Hey folks, I noticed something while pulling the wheels off my e30 to put it away for the winter. Both front tires seem to be unevenly worn, almost as if the wheel was badly bent.. but the wheel is arrow straight ? There doesn't apear to be any broken belts, or missing wheel weights, and all my suspension is in good condition to my knowledge. Have a look at the video i took, it should help explain what im talking about.

(ps, the car has been sitting for a few days, so the brakes have a little rust on them !)

Lots of tires are not very round, especially lower cost tires. They prob didn't wear that way.

Do you feel any unusual behavior on the road like wandering or vibration? I wonder if one of the belts in the tire could have moved.

Thats what I'm thinking. I did mount and balance the tires myself at work. I don't recall any notable flaws in any of the tires though. My concern was that something mechanical was at fault for this, and i was chewing up tires needlessly!

There are no abnormal vibrations up until 120km/hr, after that, the whole front end has a minor wobble to it. Ive never dared push it passed that, but until then, its perfectly smooth!

I should also mention the tires are 205/50/15 Falken Ziex 912's. Not the best brand, but certainly not a cheap no name tire either !

Worn shocks and/or a slightly out of round or balance tire would be my guess.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Try measuring the tread depth all around (rotationally) the tire. This will tell you if the tire has worn that way or the whole carcass of the tire is out of round.
