    Pictures would be helpful.
The fan is probably tweaked, maybe remove it and make sure its not bent up.

      How's the fan clutch?

Another option is to ditch the mechanical fan. I left it out when I installed the new engine last year, been through a few 90+* days since then without issue. The condenser fan does the job fine.

DO NOT DO THIS unless you know for sure your aux fan works or you wire up an aftermarket electric fan.

The fan hitting the radiator with new engine/transmission mounts sounds to me like a bad fan clutch an/o bad water pump.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Well I took the radiator back out and I think something is wrong with the lower mounts they look like the have been welded on by somebody who wasnt a very good welder Im not sure what the story is with this.

But I was able to get it going I just needed to keep the bottom of the radiator from sliding toward the engine.

I didn't take any pics since I was so pissed off after taking the radiator in and out a dozen times

I need to look at another e30 maybe at the junk yard to find out what is going on with mine and what needs to be done to make it right

Does it still have the plastic cup mounts that the radiator sits in?

it had one and I tried to see how it fit on either side and there is an issue with how it sits on the drivers side

do they just sit on the metal part of the mounts or is it supposed to clip in or something

I've got a car at the shop with the head off and radiator out now. I'll take some photos tomorrow if I get the chance, for you to compare. I am curious to see what you are up against though.
