    rear defrost button light

the button light, and the hot, and cold knob lights do not work. i tried swaping out the defrost button with a new one, but it still didn't light up. where should i be looking?

    did you check the bulbs?
My hot/cold knob and those slider lights were all not working when I bought the car - just needed to replace the bulbs.
I went to Lordco, and they didn't carry the bulbs, it's some special BMW sized one that the dealership will most likely stock.

edit: not sure about the defrost..

yeah i figured the one would be the bulb. but the defrost is puzzling me...
do you have the part numbers for those bulbs, because i have to give them to my friend, and i imagine if i just describe it, i may end up with the wrong bulbs:D

You should be able to find the needed bulbs at any NAPA, VIP, Auto-zone, etc
The rear defroster light is located inside the switch itself. The Temp control has 2 bulbs 1 for the Hot/Cold knoband 1 for the Blower & Vent sliders.
Neither bulb are very easy to get at and require some disassembly of the dash controll assembly.

the light is inside the switch itself, i.e. you can disassemble the defroster switch and pull out the tiny bulb. the wires that power it are the wires that connect to the switch's connector/harness

i would imagine you can. try it and find out.
Edit: you could probably take it to an electronics shop and get them to do it if you can't...
