Locks

I have a 2 door 84 318i, it is being scraped and i am working on a 91 318i and using whatever parts i want off of the 84. I am wondering about locking systemsÉ the locks on the 91 dont seems to work so well and i was wondering how it all works on a 4 door compared to a 2 door as the 84 has locks that work perfectly. I read about differences in keys but both are marked with S and are ther same length. I may be way off but am looking to see if something may work.

so if i swap over the locks from the 2 door e30 to the 4 door e30 it will work then. do the rear doors unlock when you unlock the front doorsÉ just never owned a four door before.

I have personally used 4 door locks on 2 doors. And yes, all four doors will unlock if everything is working correctly. It will also unlock the trunk and fuel door.
