    BMW Hose Clamp Removal

    Hi guys,

Is there a tool for BMW hose clamps removal or is there a trick for removing them? I tried to remove the power steering high pressure hose last night and ended up cutting the hose because I could not get enough leverage.

    Thanks.

If you are talking about the crimp type clamps, cut the u-shaped piece where the crimp tool was applied. Compound leverage cutters works as does a cutoff blade in a right angle die grinder (or similar).
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Yes, Jim, but there was not enough room for an angle grinder. I have to check into a compound leverage cutter. Thanks.

dremel with a small cutoff blade works wonders

I've never had any trouble cutting them with small metal snips.

You must have very strong hands. I took the clamp off and it was a heavy duty stainless steel. A chisel and hammer barely made a dent in the clamp...don't see how you can cut it with a small metal snips. A small Dremel and cutoff wheel is probably the way to go.
