Hey fellas, I recently changed my heater core & valve (both new OE parts made by Behr & Bosch if memory serves) on my '89 stroker. I bled the system using the bleed valve on an incline and the heat was working for a day (sadly a day when it was 50F). Now that it is 30-40F I get no heat whatsoever.
I have felt the return pipe, under the heater valve, which is very cold, so this tells me no coolant is circulating through the core. Is there still too much air in the system? I've bled it 4-5 times until there is a constant flow of coolant coming out of the bleed valve, while the heater is blasting on high. I've even used the method of rev'ing the motor during the bleed process, but still no heat.
So what do you guys think, air in the system or something wrong with the switch that controls the valve? If it is the switch, any idea how to fix?
By the way, the motor is running at the correct temp so no worries there.
Thanks for your time!
Chris
