    E30 starting issue :(

ok so sometimes my 89 325i will only start when cold. ive replaced the starter, ignition switch, and battery. the wires look good going to the battery. the car will clutch start all the time when i need it to. most of the time i will shut the car off and try to turn it back on and it wont turn over. it gets power but wont turn over. it usually will only start when its cold or been sitting for awhile. this is driving me crazy and i really dont feel like taking the car back to BMW because they are super pricey. im thinking of replacing the starter again because my heater hoses exploded and got coolant all over the wires and the starter. if anyone has any suggestions please help me out.... and sometimes when i use the brakes the check enging light comes on then goes away,

    thanks guys!

The first checks when the engine won't crank would be to see if power is present at the solenoid control terminal using a meter or test light, a check of the ground strap between the engine and chassis, and a check of the main power circuit to the starter.

If the engine ground is good, the main power supply is good and power is present at the starter solenoid, the starter is the problem.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
