    No Heat...any help appreciated

Hey fellas, recently I changed my heater valve & core (both new OE Bosch & Behr) to try to finally end freezing my ass off every winter in my stroker. After bleeding the system, with the bleed screw, and even rev'ing the motor, the heat was working...but only for a day.

I have since bled the system 4 more times and every time there is a constant flow of coolant from the bleed screw. Therefore I'm at a loss as there is no coolant getting to the core. I felt the return tube leaving the core and it is cold even after a 15min drive.

One quick question, per what I've read on the forums, do I need to have the Temperature dial on heat or cold when I plug in the heater valve? It seems it would not make a difference either way, but just checking.

One more question, I assume the top line, where the heater valve goes is the inlet, correct? This inlet will connect to the hose coming off the rear of the head. The bottom line, the outlet, which connects to the hose that leads back to the front of the engine bay??

Also, do you think it could be a problem with the Temperature dial? I think not because when the fan is on full blast and I turn the dial from cold to hot I can hear a change taking place.

Anyhow, thanks for your time and I'd appreciate any assistance before winter sets in

**EDIT** forgot to add that at night during cold'ish (34F) weather the windscreen gets a lot of moisture on the inside after being parked for a few hours. There are no leaks at the new heater valve, core or inlet/outlet tubes.

With the engine off and, ignition on, and blower off you should be able to feel the valve open/close when you move the heat dial from cold to hot.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I can't remember off the top of my head which hose goes where, but if you search, you will find your answer. I'm betting you have them reversed.

The valve is marked with the direction of flow. The hose from the rear of the head is the supply to the heater.

Do your car still have the cooling system recall diverter valve installed in the hose from the back of the head? I've seen those valves fail in the closed position, in which case no hot water gets to the heater core. They are especially prone to failure if the engine has been overheated. Also, the heater valves are powered closed, so if you unplug the valve there should be no restriction on hot water flowing to the heater core.

            Been there done that,

You have it backwards, cylinder head goes to the bottom.
