    Leaky radiator hose...and it's new?!?

    Hey guys,

I'm a bit confused. I just did the cooling system on my 24v e30.
My current setup is as stated (everything is brand new)...

    88+ late model radiator
    Late model expansion coolant tank
    E36 radiator hoses

As of now, I've noticed a slow, but very steady coolant leak at the lower hose that attaches to the bottom of the rad. I'm very confused on why this would happen since all of the cooling components are brand spanking new?!

Any tips on how to stop this leak?

How about your hose clamps? I've run into issues re using old clamps or clamps of the wrong size that pinched the hose allowing leaks.

To be honest, hose clamps were reused, but ive never ran into issues before in the past with reusing hose clamps?

Spring type clamps (the type you squeeze with pliers to remove) can definitely go bad. Did you try simply tightening the hose clamp? Are you sure it is leaking from the hose and not above the hose, then dropping down onto the hose?

Looks Like the system needed to get bled a little more. No more leak from that hose :D

Good to hear. My problem with reusing hose clamps was that they would slip. I would keep tightening and at some point the teeth on the screw would slip on the notches on the strap. Corrosion, bending, not sure why. I'll still re use hose clamps sometimes, but if the slip at all they get replaced with new.
