    Convertible Moisture

My tops leaking and I just bought a new one that will be installed in 2 weeks. My car has to stay outside for now and it is taking on water. I am going to put a tarp over it but there is water in it and I have an expensive radio in it. Does anyone make a car dehumidifer? maybe one that plugs into the cig. lighter?

    Thanks

I think you should get to the source of the problem. Most likely water collected in the rear under carpet. Its gonna take a while to dry and if you leave it too long, you'll get rust spots on your floor board. I would either put a fan in there or take the carpet out to dry.
Renting my rear wheel bearing tool kit. SIR

the problem is that the top has 3 holes in it but the big problem is my gold digging bitch of a step mom that needs a garage space and won't give it up for two weeks. How can I tell if my floor boards have rust on them?

I think the tarp would be your best bet then. You have to take the seats out and the plastic side rails out to lift the carpet up.

PULL the carpet up to inspect the floor's. Once the padding under the capet is WET its like a giant sponge that will hold the water.
Use a Wet Vac and go slow. In the rear you can pull the carpet up @ the riser for rear seat.
Also when you put the new top on BESURE to fet ALL new seal and gaskets ALONG with new Tensioner straps.

you can roll back the carpet and expose the sponge material, then step on it to squees out the water and soak it up with yet another sponge.
            pls don't ask how i know ;)

I had the same problem and used a cordless drill to tap (2) 3/16" holes, (1) EACH in the rear pass. footwells to drain the water there was a load of water back there! (until I could replace the top $$$) Then I sponged up as much excess water as possible. Finally, I placed something under the foam AND between the carpet and foam to keep them open to air dry. Once dry I used touch up paint to the holes to finish the edges (I live SoCal. this paint was good enough I think)
