    a little help?

So I was accelerating onto the interstate last Tuesday at about 5000 rpm in 4th gear and the check engine light lit up as I was shifting into 5th. I could feel an immediate loss in power and the sound of the engine became much rougher. I pulled of at the next exit to check it out. It was running extremely rough and sounded like sputtering kinda like a blup blup blup. I had to drive it home about 2 miles. At one point I couldn't make it up a hill and had to back up twice and run the stop sign to get enough speed to make it up. I parked it but since i don't have a garage and it was dark I didn't touch it until the next morning. It had a hard time starting but finally caught. And now It will start on the first crank but then dies and wont start again. It had a rough idle before this but it never ran rough at higher rpms. Im not sure what blew but I though you guys could throw me some ideas. Otherwise Im just going to troubleshoot with my bentley.:-(

Okay, you are new, so I'll go easy on you.

Break it down into smaller paragraphs.

If you have Bentley, use it before you post the question.

Put SOME description of the problem in the thread title - it will help us out.

    Use the Search tool.

    That is all.
