Jubilee of problems (Check Oil Light/Exhaust Smoke)

Well this weekend I was working on my central locking which still isn't fixed (Going to throw parts at it when I get them). I got everything manually unlocked and closed everything up. I start my car and look up and I see the check light for oil is on.

Turn off the car, pull the dipstick and its in between the two lines. So, oil level seems to be fine, at this point I am thinking maybe the sensor is busted? My car now puffs out a little more smoke then normal. It has always put out a little smoke but I've never had the check oil light before. Going to have my buddy come over and see if he can see whats wrong.

Does anyone have input on this or have had a similar problem? I don't know if I fried something? Maybe my ECU went kaput (Fuel injectors staying open)?

I am not really sure what to do here, if you have any idea feel free to share.

Just started the car again, the check panel light for oil is off. Still got extra smoke than normal coming out.

Did you disconnected your battery while working on your CL system? Everytime battery is disconnected, check oil light comes on (at least for my e30), after 2 or 3 ignitions, light goes off.

Yeah battery was disconnected and reconnected a few times to test if I fixed the CL. That must have been it, freaked me out. I live in seattle so its cold right now, just seemed like it was putting out more exhaust than normal. I had two mechanics come over and look at it said it was all good. May need some seafoam though :P
