The power mirrors adjustment are occasionally work but only up and down movement, should I replace the switch as the first step?

Try cleaning the connection at the door plug first.

Got it...also, if I need a new switch, how good are those ebay used one? Should I just get a new one online instead?

        Yep, replace the switch first.

the contacts in the door are probably corroded. look at them first!! it costs NOTHING. seen tons of the door jambs completely destroyed.

The connection in the door jam only supplies power & ground to the switch. The motor control wires are between the switch and the mirror. Corrosion of the connector at switch or the motor are possibilities, but since the mirror operates in one direction the door jam connector can be ruled out as a cause.
