    skid plate install problem

I think I already know the answer to my question, but want to be sure.
I searched for others who had similar install problems, but didn't turn anything up.
I'm putting an ejnight skidplate on my m20 325i. Following the instructions, I bolted the rack to the subframe with the steering rack bolts, then proceeded to the radiator support to drill some holes.
It seems that if I were to drill holes, they would be inside the structure, and not along the lip at the back which seems like where the holes should be. Anyone else run into this?
I went ahead and put one hole in, and trying to get the nut inside the structure was a challenge. Tightening it was impossible.

So I'm guessing the radiator support is bent back about 1/2" or so.

Not sure what to do. Try to get it pulled forward? Redrill holes through the skid plate? I'm open to suggestions...

I had the opposite issue, not enough to drill into. Best guess would be to fit the bolts you can.

looks like the rad support has moved for you. a lot of cars front ends -end up shifting around, including the strut towers

Yupp. Had the same issue with my friends car. Ended up just bolting in the three we could and left it at that. Car is getting scrapped soon due to crazy rust...
