Drivers window makes grinding noise, pass sometimes stays down

just a little issue thats been going on since i got my car that i would really like to address. when i roll my drivers side window down, it goes down all the way just fine but then it sounds like the motor keeps spinning, almost like theres a sensor for when the window is all the way down that isnt working still roll up just fine but i always hear the annoying grinding when i put my window all the way down

also when i roll my passenger window down and if someone rests their arm on it or sometimes for no reason at all it wont go back up, no grinding or anything at all, just nothing happens until i get out my allen and crank the window up a tiny bit then try the switch it works fine. weird.

    any help is appreciated

If its what I think it is, there is a rubber stopper thing that may be missing on the track/motor. Is the grinding more like an annoying clicking? Take off your door card and play with the window until you find out what the problem is. GL.

The down limit switch in the driver side motor is bad. The regulator and/or motor in passenger side is bad.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

yeah its a clicking, not so much a grinding i guess. i have taken the door panel off and looked but didnt see much, ill have to try again.

is the down limit switch a part i can replace without doing the whole motor? i mean unless is not much of a cost difference i may just do both motors anyways. also do you happen to know if theres a way to actually tell when a regulator is bad?

          thanks for the help guys
