    Central locking not good

    My central locking is not really that great. Its a 89 325i sedan and the locks stick. Locking the car is easy, its the unlock that sucks. I unlock the trunk and the rest of the locks open halfway. I then have to unlock the rest of the way with the passenger door. This has gotten really annoying...

    I pulled the trunk lock and hinge assembly out and cleaned it really well and greased it. If someone could direct me to a thread so I can get the other locks out so I can clean them that would be awesome.

      Thank you, but I looked at this one today and the door is different than my car. I don't have the plate that can be taken off for easy access. Maybe because my car is a four door or its because its a later model (89). I can't really find a write up for a door panel like mine and I decided to just do keyless entry to eliminate the possibilities for broken keys in the future!

        My car is a late model 4 door as well and I used the write up just to get an idea how to disconnect the lock cylinder, it took a little bit but wasn't terribly difficult, mine was worn out and stiff so I soaked it in liquid wrench for a while and worked it a few times until it was smooth again

          How did you get the lock cylinder out though? I can't really find a way to get to it. There are no holes in the door skin besides the bottom right side.
