    cylinder head removal ??/

OK i just bought a car (89' 325is) with a blown head gasket im close to removing the head . my question is do i remove the head with the intake attached to it ?
or do i just separate the head and intake , then pull the head off ?

    thanks in advance .

p.s. the bentley manual didnt specify .

In my opinion its easier to remove it all together. If your strong enough go for it, its also good if you have help. If you havent taken an m20 intake off it could take you an hour your first time. I think the fastest i've done it is 20 minutes. I had the entire top end of my engine torn down in about 2 hours by myself going the intake attached route. Its also much easier and quicker to put them on as one (again you need help, 3 people is best). Two to hold head/intake, and one to hold the breather tube that runs from the crankcase.
