    elephant trunk

California rain = puddle in my passenger footwell. I cleaned out the trunk tonight but without a garage it was too wet and dark to figure out how to get it back on. I tried a few times but there was a lot of resistance. I'm tempted to line it up and hammer it on, but are there any tried and true methods?

The drain that looks like an elephant trunk on the passenger side of the firewall.

Put a little oil on the lip and it'll prob go right on.

Sorry...posted it in the title but not the post itself...took out the elephant trunk, a drain exiting the firewall on the passenger side.

Make sure you bend the edge of the heatshield on the firewall into the fire retardant material. If you don't, the water that drains out will go behind and soak into the fire retardant material. Then your floorboard will rust out unseen. Don't ask how I know.........
