Fuel Economy During Shifts (Fuel Supply Issue?)

Question: What does your e30's fuel economy gauge do when accelerating and shifting?

I ask because I'm pretty sure my e30 has a fuel supply issue (hopefully just the pump which is easy to replace). RPMs are good and increase but the economy gauge takes a dump. It doesn't bottom out completely but it goes very low and I'm not driving aggressively. There is some stuttering so the car definitely has a problem.

Accelerating from a stop: 5 mpg
After entering a new gear: 10 mpg, sometimes 15 mpg

Totally normal. Even during moderate acceleration, my car will drop to 10 or 15mpg and I could get it farther down if I tried.

Acceleration will cause the economy to drop its easy to get my e car to dip to around 10mpg while accelerating

My e30 does the same. Accelerating and under load, I'll get around the 10-15 and it stays there progressively getting better until It hovers around 25 when I'm at speed and constant
