    Steering column locked

So here is my issue. I have a 1991 318is that I have dropped a s52 into and working on making it a track car. In the middle of the build I moved and lost the key. I got the car started no problem and cant seem to figure out how to get the steering unlocked. I don't have the car registered it will never see the street its meant for track use only, so I cant just go get a new key made at the dealership. I do have the pink slip so its not a stolen car I am not trying to be shady in any way. I just need help figuring out a way to unlock the steering column so I can keep moving with the build. Thanks in advance to anyone for help!

Dealers vary, but I've always been able to get a key, even for a car with no title, as long as I have some proof of ownership. Like a bill of sale that shows the VIN number an frequently a picture of the VIN plate. It helps to have a good relationship with your dealer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Thanks for the advice guys but at this point I am past the point of no return. I have already messed the lock cylinder up beyond the point of no return due to my frustrations lol so any other advice would be great.

In that case you may have to punch out the lock cylinder and try to move the locking pawl after the cylinder is out. But if the cylinder will turn and isn't too damaged you may be able to remove it in the normal manner and then get to the locking pawl. If the lock housing isn't damaged you can get a new cylinder & key from your dealer match to the VIN, in which case that will also operate the other locks.

But if the lock housing has been damaged, the pawl may be damaged. In which case you will have to cut away the top of the plastic cover and saw through the lock. You willthen need a new lock housing, cylinder, key and upper cover.
