    SRS system removal

I searched and only came up with vague results...or I'm really bad at searching. Either way. I haven't had my air bag in for awhile as I don't trust a 22 year old german explosive device to save me in a crash. And I've been cleaning up my engine bay and want to get rid of the air bag sensors as well as not have my SRS light constantly going off. Is it as easy as just pulling the orange box under the dash and removing the sensors or is there more to it? I'm only worried as it appears maybe the ABS is connected to everything.

    Thanks
    Nick

I pulled the entire system out. I just had the battery disconnected, pulled out the sensors, pulled out the orange box, and pulled out the wires from end to end out through the interior and I have no SRS light or anything funny. I think I remember reading that as long as you remove everything with the battery disconnected you won't get a light but that if the battery is connected when you unplug anything you will have a light, all I know for certain is that I was able to remove everything and have no SRS light.

Great thanks! So I assume that means that the similar looking orange plugs on the ABS lines aren't connected at all then?

Nope, not at all, the wheel speed sensors are completely independent.
