    Alternator adjusting bracket..

my adjuster bracket.. Won't adjust all the way down as to move the alternator down far enough to slide the new belt on.. What am I missing??? 13mm nut is loosened so as to wrench the 19mm to adjust the alternator itself.... but on the front... It keeps sliping teeth and eventually strips ..?? Help lol

The teeth on the star nut or bracket are stripped. Probably for someone trying to move the alternator without first loosening the bolt at the bottom of the alternator. You did loosen that bolt, right? With it and the adjuster loose you should be able to move the alternator by hand.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Didn't know there was a nut on the bottom... Just thought there was one on the top/back

Question is that the elbow piece that is also connected to the ps pump?

Oh, I forgot to mention that the bolt holding the bracket to the engine also must be loosened.
