    87 325is cluster question

Hey guys with my new e30 purchase it seems to be missing its cluster. We know its around 200k. Anyways I hit the local pick n pull yard and got an 88 325is cluster. I also pulled an 87 cluster but it was in a convertable and was rusted inside. However I was able to pull the fuel gauge since I had herd 87 gas gauge read different than an 88. Anyways I hid the rest of the cluster in another car in case I needed other parts from it. So my question is can I just run the 88 325is cluster or do I need to swap the fuel gauge from the 87 into the 88? Secondary question do I need anything else from 87 cluster?

    Thanks in advance.

    What car do you have?

If a 325 that was built before 9/87, it will have the 53L fuel tank and will need the early (up to 8/87) fuel gauge.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I have an 87 325is. I guess I will have to check the date code on the door then.
