    interesting. so how far (if at all) are the stock eta pistons sunk below the block at tdc?

      the stock eta pistons sit flush with the block but then there is the dish in the piston itself.
      85 325e 2.7 ITB'd stroker

        you say the i pistons stick out abou 3mm, and this fella cut 3 mm off his i pistons for the swap. this seems similar to a stock e piston setup, except the e pistons would have that dish, for which it seems you could compensate by milling the head. what do you think? is there something i don't know about that $250 machine job?
