    Cooling/Overheating Issue

    I had someone replace my intake manifold gasket, and now, for some reason, my car is overheating. First, it was running rich and the car was stuttering when gas was applied. The car also overheated like crazy, and the coolant hoses had no pressure/fluid in it, so I replaced the thermostat. Now, the stuttering problem went away and it wasn't running rich anymore. The temp needle goes right between the 1/4 and 1/2 mark and stays there when I'm on the road. But when idling, it slllooooowly starts rising. Upon the application of the throttle, it cools back down.

    So, I'm guessing it's the fan clutch? Any thoughts?

      If you are overheating when stopped or in stop and go traffic there is little to no forced airflow through the radiator and heat transfer from the radiator to the air is poor. Knowing this your fan clutch may be faulty test it by sticking a rolled up newspaper in the backside -it should be easy to stop. Let the sit and get hot then try and stop the fan-It should be almost impossible to stop if you can stop the fan you need a new fan clutch.
      Also test the aux fan and make sure that its running. If the fan is not running it could be the resistor or the fan thats faulty.
      Make sure that the fluid is topped of and the system is bleed properly
