Okay I am thinking about replacing my Radiator, and I have been looking and seeing a bunch of different radiators that apparently fit different production dates on the 87 M20. Such as a different radiator for automatic transmission and a different one for manual transmission. They look the same and was hoping to Ho with an all aluminum radiator. I can't afford mishomoto but all aluminum seems like it would be the hard plastic wells. If there is actually a difference can someone help me out.

Your car has the early cooling system configuration and thus the early radiator. I don't know if anyone offers an all aluminum radiator for that configuration. If the car has an automatic transmission you must use the radiator with the internal oil cooler. But if a manual transmission you can use the plain radiator or one with the cooler.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
