    Polishing the combustion chamber

Does anybody happen to have this technical paper? http://papers.sae.org/902141/

I've googled the subject and read various theories about the effects of polishing the chambers, but being able to read an actual study by some professionals would be nice.

If anybody has some good data on the subject, l'm very interested. Right now my thinking is along the lines of post #18 on this forum:

I don't have the data, but the theory is what I have heard as well. Polish pistons and you will have less hot spots and cooler chambers in general. I don't see this being of any use on an NA car, but turbo... for sure.
