ok well im planning to change my fuel filter this weekend and add some fuel system gas treatment..my question is, should i add the treatment and let it run thru before changing the filter to let the old filter catch any stuff that gets broken down by the treatment or go ahead and change the filter then add it?

Either way. If there is stuff in the fuel system that treatment could break loose and clog the filter you have much bigger problems. Gas treatment products are designed to (a) eliminate water from the tab, and (b) dissolve deposits in the injectors.The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
