    Valve tick (m50)

I know there is a 5 series sub forum but it gets very little traffic. The M50 in my E34 has always had some valve tick occasionally. It's not nearly as bad when it's cold out for some reason. It's most noticeable at idle and usually if I give it a little rev it goes away which leads me to think it's an oil pressure issue. I run 20w-50 in it and have found if I don't change the oil every 2500-3000 miles or so the ticking starts back up pretty regularly. I'm not overly opposed to frequent changes especially with a higher mileage motor (it's a 2nd motor, mileage unknown but less than the chassis 246k). I'm worried it's going to get worse and cause some irreversible damage. I've ran seafoam through it, tried different viscosity oils. Would it be advantageous to pull the valve cover and try to manually clean in there? Any tips or advice is appreciated

Sticky lifters. Try a 0w-40 oil & see if it goes away. Oh & try some LiquiMoly hydraulic valve lifter cleaner.
