    Jack clearance tips?

Within next year, a great deal of time will be spent under 318.. full (front and rear) suspension refurbish: all bushings, Bilstein sports, shorter springs, motor & trans mounts, trans seals, skid plate, short throw/shift linkage rebuild, LSD swap, exhaust, guibo, center bearing, etc..

I have 4 jack stands and 2 floor/shop jacks. (one full size – one smaller)
(Also have a set of ramps but expect front lip clearance will/would be a concern.. in addition to obvious lack of usefulness regarding suspension disassembly/re-assembly.)

During past maintenance, it seemed like jack clearance was tight, and expect it to get tighter with lowered suspension.

As of now, expecting/planning to use chunks of 2 x 6 lumber under tires to raise car up and help gain clearance for floor jacks.

I’m familiar with proper jacking points.. mostly fishing for ways make things easier clearance-wise.
    Any tricks/tips/suggestions appreciated.

if you have clearance issues, you can use the factory jack points with a floor jack. i imagine your car couldnt be low enough that you couldnt get one under there.

mine is..... so yeah, driving onto some 2x6s work for me everytime. the diff is a bit low but no clearance issues, but to get the jack past the oilpan to the subframe you'll need to drive onto some boards.

I first lift with the factory jack, then get a floorjack under there. It's annoying as hell, but on the other hand, my sideskirts are like 5" off the ground. :)

This is what I usually do.. once I get the side raised up enough I slide my floor jack under the center of the front subframe and go from there.

You need to get the macdaddy jacks. the AC hydraulics low profile.

big waste of time and energy, all you have to do is drive onto some boards and slide the jack under the subframe
