    Changing a water pump on a 1991 318i.

Never done this before. How hard is it?

Any links to an online DIY?

Does it involve fucking with the timing chain (I believe the m44 318i has a chain and not a belt).

How long would it take? It will be my first time changing a water pump but I've gotten to be pretty handy with simple issues.

Its a 1hr job or so Eric.

The water pump is just like a m50 pump, use 2 bolts threaded into it to pull it out of the bore. Make sure you unbolt it first though of course.

Score. Thanks bud. I had thought some e30's involved messing with the timing chain.

You have to take the timing belt off to do it on an M20.

M42 could quite possibly be the easiest pump to do on an E30.
