pull door handle and doors lock? wtf

Ok so I just picked up a 90 4d and the drivers door has issues, when you pull the handle from outside it pulls down the lock and central locking locks all doors and trunk. It seems the only way to open door is from the passenger side which isnt going to work, lol...

Has anybody had this issue and if so what was the fix. Oh and on a side note the key will not work in the drivers door which I assume the lock needs rebuild however I thought I'd add that as it may also in some way be related.

I'm excited to get this one going again but I first need to overcome this because if you don't keep the key on you, you get locked out.

Sounds like some linkage pieces are hooked up incorrectly, or it needs a latch. Take the door panel off and compare with another e30, clean and lube er up.

This is quite comical, and you should ask your insurance company for a discount for the extra anti theft feature.

But seriously, as said above the linkage must be wrong in some way. In the interim unlock from the trunk, open rear door and then open the front from inside.
