I got an m62 V8 with no mounting bosses.

As the title states, i acquired an M62 V8 (X5 4.4 wrecked). I'm thinkin engine swap, get home, notice that 3 or 4 bosses on one side of the block have sheared off. Can new material be welded on? Or should i just part the motor out? Looking in the ports the valves have only a sprinkling of carbon on them. How much can I get for parts like the crank and pistons? Cylinder heads are complete.

Just call up a mobile welding guy. Do you still have the bosses?

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Don't even the earliest X5 4.4i's (2000?) have the M62TU (aka single Vanos) engine?
How would you deal with this in an E30? There's no OBD1 V8 wiring with Vanos control to convert it to.

Yes, for the most part. There was a standard m62 in a pre production
x5 that came through the STEP school(bmw school).

I think the bigger problem would be dealing with the rolling code EWS.
