What does the brown/green wire do?

I have a connector that looks like a fog light connector hanging out around my fuse box under the hood. One wire is brown and the other is brown/green. What could this possibly go to?
My washer pump doesn't spray fluid.
My oil light/brake light/rear light are all on my check panel lit up.

Pretty sure that's the connector for the hood switch that's part of the optional OEM alarm system (that most of us don't have).

never cut the brown wire!!! no jk but i am pretty sure its the alarm switch/ground?
