    Turn signal issue

This is driving me mad. About 2 months ago, I had to remove my front bumper to replace one of the corner moldings. When I did so, both of the turn signal pigtails fell apart. I made new connectors and haven't had any trouble until two days ago. I noticed the front signal wouldn't flash, just the parking light came on. I replaced the bulb thinking it was the filament. No such luck.

So today, I removed the bumper again and noticed the ground wire had come out of the connector. During all of this, the passenger side signal never gave me trouble. After fixing the driver side one, the passenger one doesn't work correctly any more.

Here is where I'm at. Driver side works normal now. Passenger one has both filaments in tact, parking light comes on as usual, but when I hit the right signal, it dims and flashes faster like it had a bulb out. Rear signal is working fine.

I replaced BOTH of the parking light fuses and still nothing. Checked and re checked my wiring and nothing. Still flashes fast and dims when flashing.

I'm at a loss here, it worked fine till I fixed the driver side one!

    What else could this be?

Not sure if this helps but I had issues a couple wks ago w my turn signals after getting it back from the bodyshop. The drivers flashed quick but had no lights out and the passenger was fine. I had a spare bulb and popped it into the drivers side but no luck. So I swapped bulbs from drivers to pass, and vice versa, and the issue jumped sides.

So I took a closer look at the bulbs and noticed one was an OEM osram, and the other a philips one.

I went to pep boys and had them look up the bulb based on my model yr (didn't know which one was correct at this point). They told me P21 was the correct bulb, but I saw two P21s....one was a single filament and the other a dual filament. I tried the single filament one, and didn't work right so returned it and bought the dual one. Still no dice.

With the bulb I purchased, I noticed the parking light w the Philips (non-Oem) one was way brighter than the osram Oem one....and this was the same side that was blinking fast. The parking lights are supposed to be dim w the headlights on, and get brighter when u hit the signals

Dug deeper into my stash of bulbs and luckily found a spare Osram one and it solved my issue. I think Pelican parts has the right size bulb u need bc the over the counter ones didn't work for me.

That's odd...I've had these bulbs in my car for at least 6 months. They are Pep Boys brand bulbs as well. They worked until I had to take the bumper off to fix the wiring on that one signal.

i'm not saying any of it makes any sense, but just sharing my experience. lol. I didn't understand it either until I put the OEM bulbs in. I tried 3 different bulbs based off what the pepboys database said and none worked properly except the Osrams.

Ok, I've tried using OE bulbs and as of today I FINALLY got new pigtails. Soldered them in today and just to be sure, installed those new bulbs.

            STILL not having any luck.

To recap, the driver side works fine. Passenger side flashes fast as if it had a bulb out. Bulbs are new, pigtails are new, rear signal is working. When I turn the lights on, the running lights come on normal brightness. When I hit the right signal, instead of the brighter filament coming on, it turns off completely, leaving only the running light on. Both fuses have been replaced twice.

Is there a relay or a flasher like on some other makes? I'm going crazy with this!!!

Just ordered new signal housings in case I have a bad socket. What else is there to the signals other then the fuses and the switch itself.
