How do I remove pintle caps without breaking them?

I was cleaning my injectors earlier and dropped one, breaking the pintle cap. I picked up a used injector from another E30 owner, to take the pintle cap from to use on mine. I don't want to use the injector because I believe it is for a 325e, and I have an i. The parts numbers on the injectors are different. Is there a way to remove the pintle cap without breaking it? All the how to's I have found say to just cut it off, but this is when replacing with a new, loose pintle cap.

Also, there are 3 numbers on my stock injector: 060, 746, and 0280150715.
The 3 numbers on the other injector are: 086, 941, and 0280150715.

I am assuming the other one is for an eta, as that is what the person I got the injector from owns, and that it shouldn't be used in my engine.

Might as well get all 6. Do it once.
