    timing belt...

    would any of you guys buy a brand new Contitech timing belt and a tensioner off ebay? just wondering if any of you have...if so let me know. thanks!

    also does anybody know the timing belt kit sold on pelicaparts.com comes with the timing belt and the tensioner? the one for $29.95? if so il just get it from there...cause the ebay one is the same pic but just like $5 cheaper...still need some advice. thanks!

      me, I'd buy it. but when I get it, if it is at all questionable, I would not use it. I think they are better than a dying belt.

        There are a couple of ebay sellers I'd trust, but for a t-belt, unless it was one of them (fap99 comes to mind), I'd pass on something that important and get it from a reputable place.

                Well you need to buy a water pump while you're at it, better do belts, hoses, and thermostat too. Id get it all from BMA/Pelican and save money on shipping.

                  i already have the belts and water pump. plan to get the thermostat and timing belt kit soon. ive done hoses already.

                        wel i emailed them and they sed its near $70 with shipping for the kit that $29.99...is that right?

                        also how about the genuinebmwparts dealer on ebay...his positive feedback is 99.7 percent???

                          Like someone else said, I'd get it (I have one in my trunk waiting for change right now), but if it looks questionable don't use it. A conti belt (if the part no. is the same) is a conti belt. The only difference would be how long it sat on a shelf somewhere. Wouldn't be very productive to put an air cracked belt in.........Mine looks great though.
