    Are these the two re-circ flaps?

    I stole the picture from one of the threads on here.. i hope they dont mind me recycling the picture...

    Are those two square flap lookings things the flaps for the re-circ for the AC system?

    I think so, but I believe you must access them from the blower motor side. Remove blower motor and yo should be able to see doors and the arms that attach to a servo motor that opens them. You'll be very lucky if the little pedestals that hold the arms to the doors are still attached to the doors.

      no the small squares are the fresh air flaps for center and side dash vents, large rectangle between the two squares (where the wires are laying) are the defrost for windshield. the recirc doors are out under the cowl cover in the base of windshield by wipers ,accessed by removing cover behind cylinder head.

        Isnt the "fresh air flaps" the recirc flaps? same thing?

          no recirc flaps are for allowing fresh air to enter the cabin (thru the cowling area)or be blocked and "recirculate" the air pulling from inside the cabin only. good for max AC or drying air in winter to prevent fogging.

          fresh air flaps are just air blowing at your face (if recirc flaps are open it will be fresh outside air) also if you have heater on to footwells but not full hot you will get cold air out vents (an aid to keep you from falling asleep if to warm inside ),think there is a good description in the owners manual...
