gray cloud, smells electrical..wut?

So coincidentally the day I attempted to put an aftermarket headunit in my 90 325is, if I am on the gas hard (in gear or not) a gray cloud plumes out from underneath my car (not from muffler) and smells electrical. I haven't smelled it myself but I am going off what my buddy told me.

Could use your help!
