    A/C Low Pressure Switch

My a/c low pressure switch is bad and I need to replace it. Will unscrewing and removing the low pressure switch vacate the system or is there a valve that prevents the freon from escaping? I was hoping to just unscrew the old one and screw in the new one.

    Thanks, Marc

Removing the valve will dump the refrigerant.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

      Jim,

Thanks for your quick response - I was afraid that was the answer. Oh well.

      All the best.

Out of curiosity what makes you think it's bad?

I jumped the wiring to the switch and the wire is hot. However, I tested the switch and its bad and causing the compressor not to turn it. It's fairly easy to test.
