    Engine Bogging out!!!

    Hey r3v Community,

I have a 1989 325i that I just had all fixed up and while fixing all the gaskets for the oil pan and the valve cover were replaced. I drove it around and the car drove fine no problems. When I woke up the next morning there was a massive oil leak. Took the car back in and we lifted the car up. When we lifted it up my mechanic sprayed the underside of the motor with a degreaser spray to rid of the oil stuck everywhere. We waited a few minutes after cleaning it up and found out that the senser that is on the top of the oil pan was leaking so we took it out and but it back in and tightened it. Once I started my car back up the car ran good and strong. I drove it down the street and for maybe 2 minutes. Once I got to the light I turned and it started bogging out, as in sputtering when i gave it throttle. I managed to make it back to the shop but we couldnt find a thing. But what we noticed was that when we turned the lights on the car would bog out faster, almost instantly, and was worse than if we ran the car with the lights off. Now today the car wo't start without a jump and I have not drove it long enought to see if the car will die again on me. (took me an hour to get home with my gf -___-)

I've been told its the volt regulator, alternator, and/or my ground. What do you guys think?

And I forgot to mention that the RPM's stay at 2-3k if that and drop till I pull over. Also the temp gauge bounces back and forth a short was till it bounces all the way to the hottest area.

Forget to connect the ground strap from the pan to the frame? It's important it's connected and in decent condition

Could this be the problem? A vacuum leak?
I know I have a cracked intake tube but it never seemed to let in air before
