    Weird brake bleeding issue..

I've recently done a lot of work to the brake system on my race car, listed below. I'm having a problem now where the front brakes won't bleed properly. When bleeding the front, the pedal is pumped then held. When I open the bleeder the pedal won't sink all the way to the floor. It only sinks about an inch or two. Having posted this issue on the spec E30 forum the thought was the master was the cause but I replaced the master tonight with no change. Both rear brakes bleed out just fine.

    Recently replaced or rebuilt.

    4 rebuilt by me calipers
all 6 ss brake lines. I installed one of the old lines on the front tonight with no change so probably not the cause
    4 new bleeders
known working newish master when I put the car back together, then another brand new master tonight
    pads/rotors
    brass guides

During the race car rebuild I also replaced the clutch master, slave, and installed a new ss clutch line. Clutch bled out just fine.

    I'm stumped

I ran a DE at CMP two weeks ago with this issue and the brakes felt okay, but I'm scheduled to race at RA this weekend and I'm not comfortable having a looming brake issue that I don't know the cause of. If I can't get It fixed I'm inclined to leave the car at home.

    Help...

Is the pedal itself hanging up on something maybe?

Disconnect the line from the mc and see if it goes to the floor.

I know you said you replaced the MC but, dang really sounds like a mc issue.

I'll disconnect the line from the MC and check. I'm pretty certain it isn't a master issue, I've tried two different MCs.
