Reused Headbolts and Gasket for Compression Test?

I did a compression test on this m30 I got and got pretty lousy numbers.

    125, 80, 60, 120, 118, 100.

I later realized after I popped the head off that the oring on the compression tester was ripped when I did the test.

I can only assume that this gave skewed results. The headgasket was new and I have no idea if the guy replaced the bolts or not. Can I button everything back together with the used bolts/gasket and get accurate numbers?

Also engine still has crosshatching visible.

its all already been crushed under the pressure of tightening the head bolts

you need new parts drop the money its not that much

or try it with your used parts and see what happens it wont cost you much

If all you want to do is a compression test, then you should be fine.

I would say it should be fine just to test it. If numbers are still low do a leak down test to see why

Yeah, compression tests aren't really that accurate. All you can really look for is a drop from one cylinder to the next. The numbers you get can't reasonably be compared to another car or test at a different time. I'd recommend a leakdown test if you REALLY want to know what's happening.

I would start but having the head pressure tested and new seals/(guides if needed) done. have the valves and seats reground.
then get it decked and install with a new BMW HG and ARP studs if u have the money.

this should bring those numbers back up to the 130+ range.
              Much wow
