    Climate Contol Panel Doesn't Light

My climate control panel used to light when I first got the car, now none of it does. Anyone know what the problem is?

Yeha, but the wole climate control used to light (at least I think). Would they all go bad at the same time?

Where exactly are the lights? Behind what and how does the dash trim come out?

There are 3 bulbs. one illum. the temp knob, one for the fan speed knob, and one for the sliders. the sliders have fiber optic inside them to illuminate. Replace the 3 bulbs, and you'll be good.

There's 4 screws to undo two above and behind where your hazard and rear heated window switches are, and the other two you will need a stubby screw driver to get to are located above the accessory tray, all are crosshead screws.

FYI: I just did this and it's very easy if all you do is remove the whole plastic peice that contains the radio, obc and climate control. To do this all you do is remove the 2 screws above the hazards, and 2 screws above the little console below the climate control knobs. After you do that pop off the plastic cover over the sliding tabs and remove the 4 more screws. Then take the whole plastic thing out and the 2 bulbs will be right at your reach. Replace them, then put everything back together.

Here's a diagram of how it is put together, hope that helps:

They are 12V 1.2W bulbs and you need 2 of them to light up the whole climate control area.

if you have any question feel free to ask me, i just did this.

excuse me for reviving an old thread.

LikeCDoos, where are these two screws located? I was just out trying to figure out how to replace the lights, and I couldnt figure it out, and then found this thread.
                    I didnt see any screws.
                    thanks.

It's probably something so easy that im not seeing.

There are 2 screws in the top behind your hazards ect (number 12 on the image), and 2 more screws under the panel (number 13 on the image). After you get those disconnect the slider knobs and the small plastic panel behind them to expoze 4 more screws. After you get that off you'll see the 2 bulbs. One bottom left and one top right.

Yup pull all 3 straight off...then get a small flathead and pop off the plastic cover (#16 in the picture), after that it will expose 2-4 screws (#14 in the picture). After removing a total of 6-8 screws the whole center dash part will come out and you will easily see the 2 small bulbs.
