    Fuel Leak

    88 325iS

When driving in a long turn, I can often smell gas afterward. I thought it might be the seals on the fuel pump or sender, so I removed the covers and drove in some circles. I found some fuel but I can't tell where it's coming from. I can't see anything from below.

I took a picture of it. The photo is taken looking toward the front left of the car, looking in the fuel sender cover hole. Strong raw gas smell.

    Any suggestions?

It looks to me like either there is a lot of crud on the top of the tank or the top of the tank is seriously rusted. Crud per se doesn't hut anything, but it will collect and hold moisture resulting in rust out of the tank. Drop the tank and see if it has rust holes.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
