    Mystery Plug

So I am putting the interior of my 85 325e back together after a dash swap and seem to have an extra plug that I have no idea where it goes. For some reason I didn't label it like the rest of the wires/plugs when I was disassembling everything. Anyway, here's a picture and hopefully someone might know what its for and where it goes. Its located on the passenger side of the center console approx where the dash would be. There are 4 wires: purple/blue, brown, brown, and red/green.

Does anyone know what this is for?

I have the same one in both my e30s that go no where. So far there have been no problems so I didn't really worry about it. If you do find what it is for please let us know.

Ok yeh I have the 13 button OBC so if its the analog clock plug that makes sense that it doesnt go anywhere. Thanks!

The dash swap was a pain but doable. Just make sure you label everything that you take off so you don't forget what goes where. I also cleaned everything and replaced the foam gasket for the heater vents as well while it was off. If I remember right, the biggest pain is getting the new one in over the steering wheel column. I took the plastic housing off but then had a tough time getting it back on after the new dash was in place. Also watch out for the metal brackets that attach the dash on the sides, they're sharp as hell and can scratch up everything on the way out and back in.

This is a pretty good writeup if you haven't seen it already.

That's a little unusual if the connector si located on the passanger side.
I got that connector a little to the left under the steering wheel and it connect to "see picture".
It's a speaker for the 13 button OBC that sound when the temp outside is below 3 centigrade to warn you the road might be slippery.
It also sounds if you set a speed limit and you exceed it.
